Major Projects

I have been involved in numerous IT development projects, both large and small. These are the larger / more prestigious ones…

Project: ResourceIT. A large intranet application for Computer People/Ajilon.
Role: Senior software/web developer. I was responsible for several subsystems of the application, including the XML aspects.
 
Project: Intranet. Company intranet for Spider Software Ltd.
Role: Senior software developer. I initiated and lead the design and implementation of a company intranet, collected, converted and organized information, determined the ‘look and feel’ for the intranet, designed and implemented the top-level pages and formed and participated in a ‘web working group’.
Project: ARKEN. A large distributed information system for North West Water (now United Utilities).
Role: Technical architect and senior software developer. I participated in the overall network design and lead the development of the network protocol stack on the outstations.
Project: UKAIR CCIS. A large CCIS for the RAF, MOD and NATO.
Role: Technical architect and senior software developer. I participated in the overall network design and lead the development of the network protocol stack on the (Unix) outstations. UKAIR CCIS has been described as "one of the most advanced, secure command and control systems in the world".
Project: ESPRIT ROSE and CNMA. Technology research projects, funded by the EC.
Role: Technical architect and Senior software developer. I lead a team of IT consultants/developers who represented ICL on these ESPRIT technology projects and delevoped an OSI network protocol stack in collaboration with other European IT companies.
 
Project: X.25. Network software for ICL.
Role: Software developer & team leader. I designed and developed the X.25 Packet Layer and lead the X.25 development team.
Project: PRISM. Pilot database of senior civil servants, for Civil Service Department.
Role: Programmer.
