Meeting held Sunday   1 April 2007

At our meeting today we discussed the letters sent to the Affiliated Societies and it was suggested that through our website we should sincerely THANK all those Affiliated Societies who had taken the time and trouble to reply with their thoughts on the actions of the BGS both with regard to the Judges licence and other matters.

Website:  As Sam was not at the meeting and the website had been checked and nothing had changed we decided to assume she had been unable to change this.  Jennifer had already emailed Lynne and she had agreed to do this for us.

Tagging – Ms Hurcombe had advised us at the last meeting that she had had a visit from Defra re tagging.  They had spent almost all day with her and she had received a letter putting her on standstill because she had not tagged her old goats.  After this had been looked into we were informed that goats born pre 17 July 2005 did not need to be tagged and it was felt Defra had not understood their own rules.  As Ms Hurcombe was not at the meeting we had no follow up on what had happened to or about her  herd since.

Members were advised to fill in and return their mixed food applications as if they mixed any foods together with supplements it was necessary to be registered.

Brian Perry had had his operation last Thursday and was doing very well; a card was signed to be sent to him.

May meeting was to go ahead and our annual trip to Penrith Mart with the hire bus would take place on Saturday 12 May, anyone wishing to go to advise quickly as the bus was almost full.    We would be leaving Mrs Kells at 08.30am

The meeting closed with tea and the raffle

Look after yourselves folk, as well as those goats, see you all again soon.
