I came across a BKS picture amongst my
fathers papers and thought you might like to have a copy as it
shows the group of Travel Agents from the Leeds-Bradford area who
were passengers on the first flight out of Yeadon/Leeds/Bradford to
Dusseldorf on the 20th September 1959. (according to the
details on the back of the picture).
My father, Harold Townson who was on
the flight on the 20th September 1959 (the first male at the top of
the steps) was one of the principals of Summerway Tours of
Manchester Road, Bradford who for many years was a booking
agent for BKS and provided holiday packages for the people of
Bradford and its vicinity using the BKS service.
