Bilton Silver Band Bandroom
Development
Building for the future...
Bilton Band is delighted to announce a vision for the future, with the launch of a scheme which will provide 21st century facilities for us, our future members, and the local community!
It is thanks to the former members of the band that we are lucky enough to have the current bandroom, in the heart of the village, and it has served us well for over 50 years.
However, it is showing signs of age and is in need of considerable refurbishment. We are proposing, therefore, to replace the bandroom with a brand new building, which will include not only a splendid rehearsal hall, but tuition rooms, meeting rooms and proper storage, something which we are painfully short of currently. Of course, the new building will meet modern standards for access, facilities, environmental efficiency and so on.
These are exciting times!
The band has already started the process of raising funds to cover the myriad costs associated with the project. We will be seeking funding from a variety of sources, including the local council, the county council, local businesses, as well as the various elements under the National Lottery umbrella. However, a significant proportion of the funding will need to be raised by the band itself.
To this end, the band is planning a number of fund-raising events, and has just launched a donation scheme, which gives donors the chance to win £50 of vouchers, and to have their names recorded in our Book of Benefactors. There are more details of this below.
Our current plans include a celebrity concert by the world famous Foden's Richardson Band, in October 2004, and we are on the lookout for any ideas, grand or small, for effective and interesting ways of raising funds, and if you can help at all, even better! Please let us know your thoughts.
Bandroom Development Donation Scheme: Donation Scheme tickets are now available, whereby donations, large or small, can be made, and the details of the donors recorded in our Book of Benefactors. Each ticket also gives you the chance to win £50 of vouchers (full details on the tickets, or from any committee member). If you would like to make a donation, please contact us.
