Introduction

This information booklet has been written to help you understand more about cancer of the colon and rectum (large bowel). We hope it answers some of the questions you may have about its diagnosis and treatment, and addresses some of the feelings which are a large part of anyone's reaction to a cancer diagnosis.

We can't advise you about the best treatment for yourself because this information can only come from your own doctor, who is familiar with your full medical history.

At the end of this booklet you will find a list of other CancerBACUP publications, some useful addresses and recommended books.
