- 4/10/06 - We have been awarded a place on
the "Rural Service Centre Hub" Programme.
This pilot is
designed to support, enhance and develop rural services. It is a joint
programme by the RDC and the RCN. It recognises the importance of local
service delivery but more importantly it recognises rural circumstances. It
seeks to support communities and service providers to establish new ways of
working and adapting service provision to rural conditions. The
programme has 2 strands: -
Strand one
involves a structured programme of service delivery
development support.
Strand two
involves the development of rural service solutions helping implement
identified needs.
- 16/09/06 - This year the group again held a very successful sponsored walk at
Loughgall Country Park on 15th September 2006, with the BBQ being again held at Derrycorry Orange Hall, raising much needed funds for the groups activities.
- 15/08/06 - We have a number of "Energy
Saving" lightbulbs to give away, courtesy of Energywatch & NIE. Anyone
who would like one, please contact us.
- 28/05/06 - Our second successful Lambeg
Drumming Classes (funded by the Ulster Scots Agency) were held between
January & May. Again we wish to thank the tutor for his time &
patience.
- 27/05/06 - A very interesting evening was
held in Derycorry Orange Hall on 26th May 2006, when Mr Mervyn Walker gave a
very enlightening and demonstration on various aspects of Gardening.
- 14/05/06 - The Digital Photography classes
run by Armagh College in Derrycorry Orange Hall have now completed. All the
students are to be congratulated and our best thanks to the tutor for her
time and patience throughout.
- 18/04/06 - The group held a very successful
"Ulster Scots Stew Night" on 17th March 2006 in Tamnamore Orange Hall.
Compere for the evening was Mr Ian Coulter, other artistes included - Sgt.
Walker Memorial Pipe Band, Frank & Danny Gibson (Drums), Jim & Tom MacQueen
(Accordian & Fiddle), Mervyn Walker (Tin Whistle).
- 01/02/06 - The "introduction to IT Classes"
run by Armagh College in Derrycorry Orange Hall have now completed. All the
students are to be congratulated and our best thanks to the tutor for her
time and patience throughout.
- 20/01/06 - An interesting evening took place
on the 19th January 2006 when a representative from the PSNI gave a very
enlightening talk and DVD presentation on Crime Prevention.
- 24/12/05 Very successful Lambeg Drumming
Classes (funded by the Ulster Scots Agency) were held between October and
December 2005, with up to 25 people (both men and women) attending,
including a minister and ladies from Brazil & Paraguay. The tutor was Mr
Stephen Forbes and is thanked for his knowledge and patience throughout the
course.
- 02/09/05 - This year the group again held a very successful sponsored walk at
Peatlands Park on 1st September 2005, with the BBQ being again held at
Derrycorry Orange Hall, raising much needed funds for the groups activities.
- 15/09/04 - The group held a very successful
Sponsored Walk at Peatlands Park on 14 September 2004. A BBQ was held at
Derrycorry Orange Hall following the walk, the proceeds of which went to MS
charities.
