Gianni Garko

Born: 15 July 1935, Zara, Yugoslavia
Sometimes credited as: John Garko, Gary Hudson

Although he appeared in many Spaghetti Westerns, Garko will always be most fondly associated with the Sartana series. He brought real style to the character, playing the role in four out of five of the official Sartana releases. There is only one Sartana - no-one else has come close. And few characters have had a cooler opening line - "I am your pallbearer".

He cites the first Sartana movie and 'They Call Him Cemetary' as his best westerns.
