Jean-Louis Trintignant

Born: 11 December 1930, Piolenc, France.

Trintignant appeared in only one Spaghetti Western, Corbucci's 'The Great Silence', but his performance as the mute gunslinger is one of the best in the genre.

A gifted actor of international acclaim, he first rose to prominence, and became a French heart-throb, with 'Un Homme et une Femme'.

He also had a notable performance in Giulio Questi's surreal Giallo 'Death Laid an Egg' where he plays the sadomasochistic chicken rearing hero.

These days he prefers stage work to movies.
