The Almeria 04 Galleries

C'era una volta Mario Marsili
A gallery dedicated to a filmmaker at work
To say that Mario Marsili is an amateur filmmaker would not do the man justice. Mario works full time as a professor of chemistry, so his film-making is solely a hobby, but one that he enters into with that level of passion for which Italians are renowned. He has filmmaking in his blood, and he has a deep affection for Leone, Sollima, Petroni and all aspects of Western all'Italiana that shines through in his work.

Nighteagle Films presenta ...
Screen captures from the Almeria 04 movie
Although the still image cannot encapsulate the same emotion as a film, the screen captures I have used will hopefully, to some extent, convey Mario's achievement with the movie. Set to the music of Morricone, Nicolai, Bacalov and Chris Casey and filmed in glorious 16:9 aspect, it is a touching homage to the world of Western all'Italiana. The film also serves as a superb souvenir of our time together and succeeds in capturing the humour, emotion and extraordinary friendship that we all experienced in Almeria 04.

The Posing Posse Dressing up in our movie costumes and carrying replica guns was a real buzz and this inevitably led to loads of posing - but who is the biggest poser?

A Fistful of Memories A selection of some of my better photographs and cherished memories from the Almeria vacation.

The Hotel Alba And finally, an endorsement for the Hostel Alba in Los Albaricoques. Highly recommended if you are planning a SW location spotting trip to Almeria.
