One Too Many White Lie's
Since Nancy's forced retirement from the IRC, the failed rotation slowing and stoppage as predicted, the groups appear to have gone into "bullet time" a sort of hushed disarray with most of the disciples temporarily disappearing leaving everyone up in the air as to what is really happening. To such an extent you would hardly know anyone had really noticed that Nancy had been proven wrong. Like no one wants to even broach the subject for fear of bringing down the house of cards. Either that or Jan is not allowing anything through on the subject. One thing is certain, there is tension in the air, possibly anger and resentment, not shared by all but many who see this as a kind of betrayal for the commitment that has been given thus far.
(However I notice the disciples/faithful usually have a lot to say on every other subject, but now when things go wrong their only reply is absolute silence.)
Some of the faithful have made half arsed apologises for interfering on none-zetatalk related groups, such as sci-astro, among them J W Dell and Jan Rypdal. Both of them only too quick to disassociate themselves with Nancy's failed predictions, (rats deserting the sinking ship.) While others have made similar comments on the tt-groups or IRC themselves, such as Obany, and Milly Gumper. The staunch disciples however like Garratt Trobaugh, Mike O'Hara, Steve Havas, Solst, Brent Freemont and QueenVee are still attempting to push the concept with pathetic possible signs they hope will convince the membership despite the planet showing none of the prophesised signs of its approach. While the "faithful" remain so, making up their own excuses and reasons for the failed predictions, even before Nancy can supply any of her usual excuses.
As for Nancy herself, she is very quiet, but then all public avenues are now exhausted with only QueenVee and the tt-groups her only possible last resources. (Although Nancy is not best pleased with the "royal turncoat" after releasing private e-mails on her site without prior consent and without Nancy's knowledge.)
Zetatalk is running out of time, it is dying and with each passing day it slips further into the depths of obscurity as the membership will not continue to hold its breath indefinitely.
