The Man who would be
King
After posting the log
minutes to TT-watch a sudden change took place on the moderation side of
tt. (Or should I say not so surprising change as the groups once again
went to "full moderation," meaning all postings or those considered a
threat were to be intercepted, edited and passed for approval.) This
sparked some discussion on Sci-astro and the offshoot of Zetatalk, Zeta-astro.

Alternative to TT-Watch

To avoid lengthy discussion on sci-astro
('cause most of you don't care) I thought I
would mention an alternative to the again heavily
moderated TT-Watch. Zeta-Astro doesn't have the control issues
that TT-Watch seems to be going through. Subscribe by sending
an email to ZetaAstro-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
As far as what is going on with TT-Watch,
Jan and Nancy have had a bad falling out, and
it seems to have become heavily controlled now.
Exactly why is something only the "elite" are allowed to know.

Try the Bad Astronomy website http://www.badastronomy.com. They
have a message board dedicated to this hilarious PX stuff.
Chances are that everyone there already knows you by your posts
on TT-watch, etc. More importantly, Nancy and The Zetacult
(sounds like a 1960's psychedelic rock band?) know about Phil
Plait and the Bad Astronomy web site.
Come on over!

I'll check
them out. But TT-Watch was interesting for the last month.
Moderation was taken off totally, and ideas flew wild. That all
changed only a few hours after the last TT Inc logs were posted
and speculation about the falling out between Jan and Nancy
was discussed. I didn't care about them knowing me as I used
my nick on that group. I think both Michael and me as well as several
others did a lot of good during that month, helping some of the
passionately credulous on that group see that there was another
side to look at, even if they didn't have the courage to do so.

Yep, Jan emailed me saying that
Brent put me on moderation because I
claimed that McCanny wanted to scare people about FEMA to hype
his book sales. It was the truth, but that can't be handled on
TT-Watch, not the whole truth. Look at the posts in the last couple
of days. Only a few per day. When I post now they do not show
up for about 12 hours.

Nope, those were 2 different messages. It was Brent that put you on
moderation, but it was I that returned your posting about
McCanney and FEMA, asking you to remove your
allegations against him. This was a matter of
netiquette and proper conduct only, not about the content. When you
removed that offending part, the posting was
accepted.
[And guess why because Jan
is a McCanney subscriber, nothing to do with netiquette.]
We are currently only 2 active moderators on TT Watch.
[Only two with active
dictatorial agenda's is what I think Jan is trying to say.]
I do not allocate
much time for the lists any more, and I believe Brent only signs on once
a day. Consequently, there may be some
moderation delay.
Regards,
Jan
[And as usual Jan is lying.
I checked the archives and everyone considered a threat bears the
moderation approval marking see below:]

So it's grounds for censoring
someone if they accuse someone of hyping book sales?
And you feel this is proper exercise of your authority as
moderator?
An'd you're not even a little embarrassed to admit this?
What a stalinist little feifdom tt-watch has become.

So what happened in just the last
week? Why are so many people being moderated now? I didn't cuss, or put anyone down other than McCanney,
and he isn't on the list. I guess being civil isn't enough these
days. So much for you letting things be open on the list. Take a
look at the traffic over the last 2 days. No one else seems to be
able to get through.

From my experience there, the moderation is
quite capricious, arbitrary, and emotion-based. If one of the moderators takes to
disliking you, your messages simply dissapear. They are just petty
little dictators in their little tt world.

It seems that posts are not getting
through again. Anyone know what is up? I
posted this to see if it is a Yahoo problem.

That appears to be the case. I can
only guess what is going on behind the scenes, but a power struggle
wouldn't surprise me after seeing the minutes of the last TT meeting.

It's everyone Michael. Only two messages went through in the last
24 hours. Whoever the moderators are now they are in some sort of
power stuggle stemming from the last INC meeting. Everything is
going to fall apart in another month or so. I guess they pay
for TT-Watch since it has a higher storage, so it wouldn't
surprise me if they shut it down. Nancy wants
to do anything to keep the whole scam going as
is, and it looks like half the board members
want to distance themselves from the whole Zeta nonsense and keep
it going.

Re: [ZetaAstro] Re: Is TT Watch back on full moderation?
If you read the meetings minutes
more carefully there's a three way power
struggle occurring... Nancy trying to reclaim her lost glory, Jan
wearing the new emperor's clothes, and the remaining TT-Inc board
members who know Nancy and Zetatalk has failed and are confused
as to the next steps to take.

Jan controlling opinions
I have Jan's exact words:
"Please reomove the allegation about "McCanny
knows that he can scare people with lies
about FEMA" and repost, please. Jan"
Now I can't even speculate on Nancy backing down on the pole shift,
which she is clearly about to do.
Jan sent this today:
"Please re-formulate. Her statement on "if there is no pole shift" was
clearly hypothetical. Jan"
That came from a post that was a cudos to Tom where all I said was:
"And her "Well, we don't know who you are" was a sign of
desperation. Good job Tom. I can't believe
Nancy is still trying to convince people that Planet X is there,
especially when the Inc logs show that even
she doesn't believe that there will be a pole shift.
Jamie"
I'm not even going to bother resubmitting
that. So much for being able to say what we
want. I don't get why Jan is still defending
Nancy, especially when Nancy has been so nasty to Jan. It is back
to opinion blocking, like you said. And that is so silly as the
Zeta ship continues to sink.
