RECIPES FROM OESOPHAGEAL PATIENTS

ORANGE HONEY BREAD

  1. Heat oven to 325.
  2. Cream shortening, add honey, mix thoroughly.
  3. Add egg and orange rind.
  4. Mix flour with baking powder, soda, salt
  5. add to creamed mixture alternately with orange juice, stirring until flour is dampened.
  6. Add nuts, grease bottom only of 1 regular loaf pan, pour into pan.
  7. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  8. Cool 5 minutes then remove from pan and cool on rack.

If you find either of these too sticky ( I didn't have a problem with them but some might) have them with a little warm tea or coffee. I promise........you will love them! Warm regards, Ellen
