RECIPES FROM OESOPHAGEAL PATIENTS
ORANGE
HONEY
BREAD
- 2 Tablespoons shortening
- 1 cup honey
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon orange
rind grated
- 2 1/2 cup flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking
powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking
soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts
- Heat oven to 325.
- Cream shortening, add
honey, mix thoroughly.
- Add egg and orange rind.
- Mix flour with baking
powder, soda, salt
- add to creamed mixture
alternately with orange juice, stirring until flour is dampened.
- Add nuts, grease bottom
only of 1 regular loaf pan, pour into pan.
- Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes
or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool 5 minutes then
remove from pan and cool on rack.
If you find either of these
too sticky ( I didn't have a problem with them but some might) have them with
