Network Cabling

Structured data cabling is continually evolving as the demands for faster data transfer increase.

Most systems are currently run over copper networks, the most advanced of which have fibre optic backbones, but it won’t be too long before entire networks are run over fibre optic cabling, vastly increasing speed, and reliability of data transfer. It is reported that this will be known as category 7.

The big advantages of networks are the sharing and compilation of information between multiple users and the reduction in the amount of hardware required, through shared resources

Category 5 E is the current wiring standard for networking, providing a gigabit system. Systems comprise a server, feeding a data backbone, which is then distributed through hubs, switches and patch panels to the user.

On an open specification, we would recommend 3 - 4 data / voice points per user, and allow 50% spare capacity in the patch panel cabinet, for future expansion. We would also install a fibre optic backbone, coupled to switch hubs, to maximise data transfer speeds.

15 year warranties are available from fully commissioned installations.

We are a Connectix approved installer. Connectix are a quality network products supplier.

We believe it is important to provide the most advanced proven technology, in a rapidly evolving industry.
