Gender Agenda - women officers clearing hurdles together

BAWP is actively involved in a partnership of several organisations in the development of "The Gender Agenda", a document designed to highlight the working environment experienced by women officers in the police service, with some positive suggestions on what the Service and individuals can do to improve the current situation. The Agenda seeks to start a dialogue and increase understanding of the reality of being a woman officer in today's police service.

The official launch took place at West Midlands Police Training Centre on August 21 2001, and was attended by representatives of virtually every police force in the UK, Police Authorities, Superintendents' Association and Federation (both England and Wales), the Home Office, and many others.
