There are really just two two types of projector
The conscious projector is a rare thing indeed. If you travel the world you are unlikely to ever find one....that is to say, a real one. The sort of people that can genuinely do this will not be on public show, nor will they want to be. These are the gifted folk who can simply sit or lie down in a quiet place and will themselves out of their bodies. For the other 99.9% of us, we have to be satisfied with the unconscious type of projection. That is to say, on an occasional basis: When circumstances just happen to be right. The ridiculous dream sequence where a tiny voice inside our head announces:
"Hey this cant be right I must be dreaming!" is generally a typical starting point.
For most of us this is the stage where we will wake up momentarily, fall back to sleep and be none the wiser in the morning. For others, calm enough not to alarm the conscious mind, the dream scenery will simply fall away leaving you free to roam and marvel.
The conscious mind regards this as ok as it does not see any real threat to you or itself in a free picture show. It knows full well you will be going to live in this strange place one day and after all who buys a house without giving it the once over? The problems begin when the unconscious mind eager for a more interactive experience decides to slip out into the aura completely. The conscious mind suddenly roused from its light slumber says "OH NO YOU DONT" and orders it back in. This is when you are subject to the often frightening jump that often occurs within the first ten minutes of sleep. In some people the conscious mind is in such complete control that they never get any further than this Jump - Awake stage. In a true projection, the unconscious mind has slipped right out and into the personal world that is your aura. The conscious mind loses some of its iron grip and things become a little more difficult for it to drag you back inside and slam the door.
Taking the next step
1. Allow yourself at least a week to build up to the attempt.
2. Deliberately make yourself tired every night by taking as little sleep as possible
3. Avoid big meals so that you are always on the edge of hunger.
4. Drink as normal but stay off alchohol
What you are trying to do here is to build up a routine. The conscious mind loves it, thrives on it and it will, if you like, be lulled into a false sense of security over a week or two.On the final day get up an hour or two early, but instead of retiring at your usual late hour, go to bed two or three hours early. If you normally retire at midnight, go off and lay down at ten o clock.Try to lay on your left side. Relax but dont let your mind switch off. Remember the conscious mind is just as knackered as you are physically tired and is anxious for lights out, but by holding a continuing thought or thoughts in your head for a length of time (an hour maximum), it will get bored and attempt to shut down as much computing power as possible in the hope that you will just relax and slip away.I'm sure I dont have to tell you that this is a hard thing to do. The chances are that you will simply drop off and wake next morning angry at yourself for the failure. But remember, nothing is ever a failure.
You are attempting a genuine experiment. After all radium and penicillin were not discovered in a single afternoon by people sitting around avidly following Eastenders.Basically what you are trying for here is to bore the conscious mind to death, in the hope that it will simply not see anything to worry about in your aggravating thoughts on how you are going to afford shoes for the kids this winter. As soon as the conscious feels safe it will shut down, hopefully before you yourself have done the same thing. The first things you are likely to feel are all or some of the following.
