The following four pictures show a model of 3242 also in 1905/6

The model was built by Chris Wesson from the Martin Finney kit but with some additional detailing and scratchbuilding.

As is suggested in the kit instructions an S2 boiler, with the dome in the forward position, was scratchbuilt using the S4 boiler wrapper from the kit as a template to draw the required shape for the new boiler/firebox.

The Westinghouse brake equipment, which was fitted to three 3232s (3239, 3242 and 3250), was also added.  The Westinghouse cylinder casting was obtained from Sans Pareil.  The pipework, steam shut-off valve and cab fittings were scratchbuilt.

To finally complete the  ' gilding of the lily ',  wooden tops were added to the cab seats and CPL GWR-pattern couplings were fitted.  The splasher crests and tender transfers were also from CPL.

Finally, the model was also painted and lined by Chris Wesson.
