Kits
are etched nickel silver and brass with castings in brass, copper, nickel silver
and whitemetal and are complete with full fittings.
They are designed with a compensated chassis (which can be built rigid) and
feature many alternative components to allow authentic
models to be built
of most members of each class over a wide period of time.
Locomotive
kits do not include tender, motor, wheels and pick-ups.
The
GWR tenders have a unique compensated chassis design with the axle bearings in
their prototypical position in the outside frames.
Tender kits do not include
wheels.
INSIDE MOTION KITS.
Complete with cast brass cranks and brass eccentrics.
For those looking for a
fresh challenge these kits certainly do add that 'something extra' to the inside
cylinder models.
It
is not possible to squeeze the inside motion between the frames of an OO model.
WHEELS.
Ultrascale wheels are by far, the best quality wheels available.
GWR
tender wheels include special axles for the outside bearing design in the GWR
tender kits.
MOTORS. All
the kits, except the newest (L11 & Duke), were designed around the Portescap
motor/gearbox and where necessary new
gearbox sides
are provided in the kit so that the gearbox can be reconfigured to fit the model
in such a way that it is not visible.
The
Portescap motor/gearboxes are, however, no longer available.
As
an alternative I am now recommending the High Level range of gearboxes and
Mashima motors.

This
kit features many alternate parts to enable locos from all four builders
(Beyer Peacock, Stephenson, Dubs & Neilson) to be built from their original
Victorian elegance through to their memorable BR days on the Lyme Regis branch.
Included
are:
Two Chimneys, two domes and two smokebox doors.
Single or double slidebars.
Short or long tanks. Wooden or metal cab roof.
Working rear radial truck with facility for the different diameter rear wheels.
The kit is highly detailed in etched brass and
nickel silver, with over 60 detail castings in brass and nickel silver and 11 in
whitemetal.
The chassis (which can be built rigid) features full beam compensation.
Available,
as an extra, is a kit to construct fully working inside valve gear. This
includes nickel silver castings for the valve rods and turned brass eccentrics.

The
history of this class of 41 engines is quite complex, the first 21 engines being
built new as Bulldogs whilst the remainder were rebuilds of the earlier Duke
class.
Provided are many alternative parts to enable construction of an accurate
model from circa 1904 to the withdrawal of the last member of the class in 1948.
Included are three chimneys, safety valves with or without top feed, alternative
cab sides and roofs, two different bogies and a choice of half cone or three
quarter cone boilers.
This
kit for William Adams’ famous T3 class of express 4-4-0s, features many
alternate parts to enable models to built representing the locomotives
in their
original Victorian elegance
through to their final days in the 1940s. Included
are: Two chimneys, two smokebox doors, parts for the Drummond
removal of the
splasher beading, equalising beams, bogie splashers
and piston tail rods, wooden
or metal cab roof and plain or
fluted coupling rods.
