Kits are fully detailed in
etched brass and nickel silver with castings in brass, nickel silver, copper and
whitemetal.
Included
are comprehensive instructions.
Kits are designed with a compensated chassis (which can be built rigid) and
feature many alternative components to allow authentic models to be built of
most members of each class over a wide period of time.
Locomotive kits do not include tender, motor, wheels, hornblocks and pickups. Tender kits do not include
wheels.
LOCOMOTIVE HORNBLOCKS
I have developed this system specifically for my kits. They consist of an etched, fully detailed hornblock together with a machined bearing and are required if you wish to build a locomotive with a compensated chassis.
INSIDE MOTION KITS
For those looking for a fresh challenge these kits certainly do add that ' something extra ' to the inside cylinder models.
Complete with brass eccentrics but
not those components needed to built the cranks.
Cast brass cranks are available so that these kits can be used with Slater's wheels.
WHEELS
These are left to the individual
modeller's preference. I personally use wheels from Alan Harris (AGH Miniature
Engineering, 12 Fford Argoed, Mold,Cheshire, CH7 1LY - 01352 700062) who also
makes beautiful crank axles suitable for use with my inside motion kits. He
also makes wheels for the GWR tender kits and the outside frame bogies of the
GWR 4-4-0s, which require an extended axle (extensions 2mm diameter).
Slater's Plastikard Ltd (01629 583993) now also produce bogie and tender
wheelsets with 5/32" dia extended axles which fit my kits without
modification.
GWR tender wheels with the extended axle, LMS Stanier tender and LNER Gresley
tender (spoked and disc) are also available from Ultrascale.
Also available are cast brass outside cranks designed to press onto Slater's
extended axles. This means that all of the components needed to build crank
axles using Slater's wheels are available from myself.
AVAILABILITY
All items are normally available from stock except: NYA- not yet available TU- temporarily unavailable - do not order
