Nebulae:The Birthplace and Graveyard of Stars

The October 1st meeting of the CDAA began with the A.G.M. We were keen to complete these formailities before launching into the main presentation of the evening. Our secretary David Pugh, obviously having put a great deal of effort into providing a host of factual information and some impressive images (many provided by one of our own members, Rick Pecce), gave his talk entitled 'Nebulae: Birthplace and Graveyard of Stars'. He spoke of the types of nebulae, their discovery and history. Along the way the audience learnt of the processes leading from the birth to the death of stars.

The Next Meeting

At our next meeting to be held on 5th November 2009, we have a Special Guest Speaker - Jerry Workman, giving a presentation entitled 'The Huygen's Mission to Titan'. The meeting will be held as usual at the 'Friends Meeting House' in Granville Road, Clacton. Please note that new members and visitors are always welcome at these meetings. Visitors are very welcome but are charged a fee of £2.00.
