These reports appear in the Friday (before our monthly
meeting held on the first Thursday of the month) editions of the
'Clacton Gazzette' and 'Essex Evening Standard' in their 'Neighbourhood
News' sections.
These are transcripts of the full report sent in to the
newspaper. Those which actually appear are often heavily modified
(reduced in size) or, on occasion not printed at all.
There was a mercifully short AGM held at the October meeting (6th October 2005). This was followed by a DVD projection of the 'The History of the Hubble Telescope'. It detailed the construction, scientific instruments and discoveries made by the 'Hubble'. The presentation was extremely well received and obviously enjoyed by all of those present.
The next meeting to be held as usual at the 'Friends Meeting House' in Granville Road, Clacton on November 3rd where Bob Leon will present a talk on the ongoing missions of the Mars Rovers and the discoveries that have been made so far.
