The October meeting held on the 5th was our A.G.M. The formal procedings were dealt with quickly so that members could get on with more interesting events planned for the evening . Using a data projector, amplifer and DVD player we were treated to half hour DVD program entitled 'The Universe'. Although this turned out to be a little dated, it did prove interesting for the audience. After a short break for tea and time for Bob Leon to attach a laptop computer to the audio visual system, he gave a short presentation on the constellation of the month (this intended as an occasional series) which in this case, was 'Pegasus'.
The next meeting will be held as usual at the 'Friends Meeting House' in Granville Road, Clacton on November 2nd 2006. We have a special guest speaker - Dr Kevin Marshall - he is a lecturer involved with the Open University and University of Essex. In addition, he is also the Chairman and founder member of The Stour Astronomical Society. His talk will be on the subject of the 'Atmospheres of Stars'.
