THE COMPANY
Clinical Engineering Consultants Ltd.

Clinical Engineering Consultants Limited was formed by Kenneth Ackerley and his wife Dorothy to offer a wide range of products for the disabled and constancy to those organisations or individuals responsible for meeting their needs. In addition to public sector services such as the Department of Health or Social Services, there were schools, societies and charities interested in both services and products.

His life-long experience provided a sound basis for such a venture having started his career as an engineering apprentice prior to his war service and, upon return to civilian life, remaining in engineering to concentrate on Research & Development. He worked with a number of differing companies before joining the Department of Health's Biomechanical Research & Development Unit (B.R.A.D.U) that was located in the grounds of Roehampton Hospital. This later became known as the Bio-Engineering Centre and was part of University College London.

In 1997 he was granted the MBE for his services to the disabled.

This year Kenneth and Dorothy retired and the company was purchased by Peter Green who had been involved in the Production side of the company since 1994.

Since its formation the company has brought a wide range of new products to the market. All have been well received and continue to evolve, not least through end-user feedback
