Howard has a long teaching career behind him in schools in Edinburgh, including twenty years in George Heriot's. He was also choirmaster at Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh and is much in demand as an organ recitalist and keyboard player. In autumn 2001 Howard moved to Perthshire to take up post as Head of Music at Morrison's Academy in Crieff.

During 2002 he was lured to the delights of directing Chansons, and we look forward to years of music-making under his guidance.

Chansons is a very friendly, welcoming choir. We rehearse every Monday night during school term-time in Perth. Rehearsals are intense, and hard work, but always genial.  

Entry into the choir is by audition – some potential members feel daunted at the prospect of auditioning, but it really isn’t too traumatic and we will do all that we can to make it an enjoyable experience.
