This site is aimed at members of the CTC living in the Leeds area, and any other cyclist interested in the CTC's activities.
The AGM of CTC West Yorkshire will be held on Sunday 14 November,
at The Oddfellows Rooms, Coleridge Street,
Halifax, and will commence at 1.30 pm.
At the moment the Leeds Group is not active, though we have a small group who
keep in touch. CTC West Yorkshire would be very keen to help any group in the
Leeds area which wanted to organise events etc., and can offer support, advice
and some financial support to get things going. Contact the Secretary (delails
in 'Cycle' magazine) of through local contacts on the 'contacts' page.
Meanwhile here is a selection of of coming events which may be of interest to
local riders. It's not intended to be exhaustive, and represents rides in which
members of the former Leeds Section are likely to take part.
Rides Leeds Cycling Action Group's
next social
ride is on 10th October, to Denby Dale, starting from
City Square at
9:00am. The route via Pontefract Lane to
Swillington, through Castleford & then to Normanton, Sharleston Common and to
the 24 hour cafe at grid ref 367188 for breakfast (19 miles). Then via Crofton,
Ryhill, Wooley, High Hoyland to Denby Dale (16 miles) for lunch most probably in
a pub. Return via Shelley, Whitley Lower, Ravensthorpe Station and the Spen
Valley Greenway turning off to East Brierly and Tong and back to City Square (27

Leeds City Council Liaison Meeting
A brief report from the last meeting, on
Wednesday, 7th July, at 18:15 in the Civic Hall, is available. This is not the
official record, which will appear later.
Other events and information
The Spen Valley Greenway is now officially re-opened following a long
period when it was closed for works by Yorkshire Water. CTC Calderdale have been
monitoring this matter for some time.
The group is registered as an informal CTC group under the aegis of CTC West Yorkshire District Association (hence the title above). Details of CTC West Yorkshire officials can be found in 'Cycle' magazine.
Alternatively, if day-long Sunday rides aren't what you're looking for, and you would be interested in forming a group to cater for your own cycling - be it mountain-biking, family rides or whatever - again, please get in touch, as either we or CTC West Yorkshire will be happy to help with advice and support.
