Two SMART Monumental Inscriptions from Cold Ashton churchyard
Cold Ashton in South Gloucestershire is situated about 10 kilometres (six miles) north of Bath. The Church of The Holy Trinity is located towards the centre of the village.
In the churchyard are two gravestones with the following inscriptions.
In memory of Elizabeth wife of Thomas Smart who died Sep 22nd 1822 aged 63 years. Also Joseph son of the above who died March 5th 1801 aged 6 years. Also James who died in his infancy. Also the above Thomas Smart died Dec 13 1828 aged 72. Also Sarah Godfrey daughter of the above died Nov 12 1823 aged 23.
Sacred to the memory of Ann wife of James Ford and daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Smart who died Nov 22nd 1851 aged 62 years. Also James Ford husband of the above who departed this life Jan 31 1875 aged 85 years.
There is also a war memorial in the churchyard
