The Fire Engines
The Green Goddesses
The Trust also has a Land Rover Redwing fire appliance which was previously used as fire cover for Cockenzie Power Station. It has been fully restored by David McAusland and is regularly displayed at shows.

The Trust is not only interested in saving our built cold war heritage it also has a number of vehicles which are currently on display to the public at various locations in the country
In June 1996 the Trust were kindly donated two Bedford RL4X4 Emergency pumps commonly known as Green Goddesses from the Scottish Home and Health Dept. These would have formed part of the Emergency Fire Stock which were previously stored in the SHHD depot at Colquhoun Street in Stirling which was closed shortly after the majority of Scottish Emergency Fire stock of just over 100 vehicles were donated as a gift from HRH to Azerbaijan as part of an emergency aid package
The Home Office continue to maintain an emergency fire stock of over 1000 vehicles to cover civil emergencies, firemen strikes and flooding. These vehicles are maintained by a private company TNT and are stored at their Marchington Depot. These vehicles are meticulously maintained and could be operational at very short notice
The first of the Trust's vehicles is a Bedford RL 4 wheel drive which we have loaned to East Anglia Railway Museum at Chappel and Wakes, Colchester in Essex. This is now fully operational and is on standby to cover potential fires in the museum.
The second of these is on loan to the Fire Service Preservation Group East Anglia Branch and is used for display and in fundraising days.
The Fire Engines
The Trust owns a 1960 Dennis Wheeled Escape which originated from the Western Area Fire Service (covering Paisley and the Islands). It was a display item for Strathclyde Fire Brigade which has been fully restored by ourselves and is currently on loan to the Fire Service National Museums Trust.
