This was a portable dance floor that we were asked to design & manufacture for a hotel in Perranporth, Cornwall. The construction was of solid Redwood understructure frames that could support the 8' X 4' X 1" (or 2400mm X 1200mm X 25mm if you prefer metric measurements), plywood panels. These panels, with the underframes, could support the weight of a family saloon car with ease. The plywood bases were then tiled in an Oak Parquet flooring tile, the edges finished in Oak & all surfaces finished in a sprayed Polyurethane type varnish. The overall size of this dance floor was 16' X 12' (or 5000mm. X 4000mm.) one design stipulation for this floor was to make it so that from storage to assembly, it could be completed within 15 minutes; another was that it should be able to be assembled in a number of sizes that would be multiples of the 8' X 4' (2,4mtrs. X 1,2mtrs.). This was all achieved. When finished, we dismantled the floor, put it in a standard Transit Van & transported it to Perranporth. We demonstrated the assembly process to the delight of the hotel manager who offered us a free weeks holiday at the hotel during the summertime which we gratefully accepted.

The start of a rather large project. The back yard of this very old cottage had to be broken up, re-laid with flags, & gates manufactured to make it private.	The completed job. One gate had to be rather wide so that when opened a small car could be driven in & parked. The smaller gate was used for pedestrian access.
