Bulma
was the first person in Dragonball to make friends with Goku (when he
was 5 and she was 12). The daughter of Dr. Briefs, she takes after
her father in that she is an absolute genius, but the rather 'feminine'
charms of her dumb blonde mother sure shows through quite strongly at
times. She can fix absolutely anything. She invents the
dragon radar, she fixes Raditz's scouter and programs it to display in
our language (or Japanese, whatever). Later, she invents and makes
the amazing 'Saiyan-Man's' costume, which can be put on at any time by
wearing a watch (the same as Peter Parker in Spiderman Unlimited-which
is crap), she wants to be the first woman in her field to win the Nobel
peace prize. She may not seem like the perfect wife for Vegeta
(especially after her on again off again on again off again relationship
with Yamcha), but they are both unbelievably stubborn and
impetuous. She is not very brave and she can not fight or
fly. But without her, Dragonball would not be able to exist (no
space ships, no gadgets, no dragon radar-it would be a right
mess). After she marries Vegeta, they become the parents of
Trunks. Bulma has a pretty high view of herself, and thinks others
do to, and thinks any boy who doesn't think she is a "total
babe" would do well to keep out of her way.
DR.
Briefs;
Bulma's
father and owner of the Capsule Corporation. Like Bulma, he is a
bit mad and a genius. He can built, fix or invent anything.
He is married to Bulma's mother, who to be honest, looks way too young
for him and more like Bulma's older sister.
Mrs.
Briefs;
His
wife, duh! Bulma's mother and Dr. Briefs' wife. She seems,
ahem, quit a bit younger than her husband. She instantly takes a
liking to Vegeta when she first meets him. She is quite, urr, how
can I say this? Dumb. Yep, I'd say that was the right word.
She doesn't fight, and to tell you the truth, she doesn't do very much
at all. Like her husband, she plays a pretty small role in the
storyline, but the capsule Corp plays quite a large role.
Id
just like to say that in the manga, Mrs. Briefs is so much funnier than
she is on the TV.
