SpSchool on Fire?!?!

Ok, admit it, this is a dream come true, right??  Something we all kinda hope will happen to our schools.  Well this week, it happened to my school.  Apparently an electrical fault caused an explosion in one of the science labs.  The day after I was there for extra lessons so I managed to get a good look at the damage.  A huge hole in the wall of the building was testimony to the explosion.  One class was completely destroyed and large parts of the department very badly damaged.

It doesn't really directly affect me since I don't do science as a subject anymore.  But it does greatly effect some of my best friends who study chemistry for A level.  Needless to say the science department is going to be well and truly screwed for a while to come with out one of its largest class rooms, loads of equipment and the only working fume cupboard in the school.

All I can say for the school is that they are damn lucky the explosion was in the holidays and not during school time.  Even just a few hours either side of the big boom there would have been people in that part of the building.  My geography class on the floor below was due to be in use by my class the next morning after our extra lesson was pushed back from earlier in the day of the explosion.

This is the second (of a grand total to 2) school I have been to where there has been a major fire.  The first by arson and this by an electrical fault...Oh well, school like normal on Monday as far as I know.  Just like last time I don't think a mere fire is gonna make the school give us a day off!!
