Trunks
is the first born child of Bulma and Vegeta (although how they ever got
around to having another one beats me). Because he is the son of
Vegeta, he is half Saiyan (like Gohan). He becomes a Super Saiyan
at a very young age and is one of the strongest fighters in the
series. He first appears in DBZ when Goku comes home from Planet
Yardrat (check spelling) after training there after his battle on
Namek. When Frieza and King Cold come to earth in search of the
Saiyan Goku (who Frieza was still 'pretty' P.Oed with) they are a little
gutted with what they found. When Goku was not around to fight
Trunks stepped in, scared the hell out of Frieza by going SSJ and
destroyed them both with ease. He explained to the Z team that
Goku would arrive in 2 hours and that he was going to wait for him, but
because Bulma and Vegeta were there, and because they were all such
'good' friends, he couldn't tell them who he was. When Goku
arrived, he and Trunks had a rather interesting conversation. He
showed Goku that he was a Saiyan, and a Super Saiyan to boot (which had
Vegeta pretty ticked off). After Goku proved to Trunks that he was
trust worthy, Trunks told him that he had traveled to the future in a
time machine which he had helped his mother to build. He told Goku
of the androids which were going to be created by Dr. Gero and of the
heart disease that had already killed Goku in his time. After giving
Goku an antidote that will save him from the virus, He leaves in his
time machine.
In Trunks's 'future' world, Goku was
dead, as were Vegeta, Krillen, Piccolo, Tien, Gohan and the rest of the
Z fighters. He only knew of his father what he had been told by
his mother, and his best friend Gohan had now also been killed by the
rampaging androids that he had warned Goku about. The world had
practically been destroyed by the 2 androids and being the strongest
warrior in the universe, all but, he was still no match for the
androids. After the battle in which he had later again traveled
back in time to fight with the Z team against Cel, he is wished back to
life with the Dragonballs after Cel- well, killed him (duh), he travels
back to his time where he is now more than strong enough to beat the
androids.
Although hi is closely related to Vegeta, he had been
raised by his mother so he is a nice person. He is brave and a
magnificent fighter and all round good guy. He becomes a super
Saiyan around age 14 when his master Gohan was killed by the androids
(partly because he was trained by Gohan who was a SSJ, partly because of
the terrible environment he grew up in because of androids #17 and #18,
and perhaps partly because, being the son of Vegeta, he is of the Royal
bloodline which the legend says has the most potential to become a Super
Saiyan.) Although he is technically a Prince, it never
plays a part in his life and he lives as the rest of the Z team do, on
earth. Trunks has great respect for his father, but he's not at
all scared to argue with him. He and his mother are very close,
which Bulma seems to love.
Chibi Trunks;
Chibi Trunks is the baby Bulma has when Trunks travels
back from the future. Although his life is different to the life
his future self had, he still becomes a Super Saiyan at a young age, we
don't know when but we know he is a Super Saiyan at age 8. Because
Vegeta did not die when he was a baby, as with the Trunks we had met
before, he grows up knowing his father (which, well lets face it, being
brought up by Vegeta would have an effect on any kid!) Because of his
fathers influence, he is more like him than 'future' Trunks is, more
like Vegeta being arrogant and a little-less peaceful. Vegeta is
determined that Trunks will be stronger than Gohan and
Goten. He is 2 years older than Gotten and they are best
friends (they fuse to become Gotenks). Because Gotten is Goku' s
son, Vegeta pushes Trunks to be stronger and more
powerful than Gotten, but because they are best friends, Trunks
and Gotten take no notice
