DragonBall
bad man- Vegeta. Once the mighty and noble prince of the
Planet Vegeta (the home of the Saiyans- INCLUDING GOKU) and heir to the
throne. He is one of the most powerful of all the Z
fighters. He makes his first appearance in the Saiya-jin saga with
his, (ahem) partner Nappa. He was defeated in battle in a valiant
effort by Goku, Gohan and Krillen. After healing, he went to the
planet Namek in search of the Namekian Dragonballs and Frieza.
After being forced to team up with Krillen and Gohan, we learn that he
is not as bad as he makes out to be (although he is still pretty
bad). After being 'blown away' by Frieza, he reveals to Goku the
reason for his violent nature is as a result of being taken from his
loving father by Frieza as a child, when his father and his planet were
destroyed by Frieza. After being brought up in Frieza's service he
became what he was. He turns super Saiyan early on in the android
saga, ironically, it is his anger at not being able to turn SSJ that
enables him to do so. Later, after he marries Bulma,
he truly does become a good person (well, sort of, he's still as
stubborn as ever). He later learns to greatly love his
family. This gives him even more of a reason to fight (to
protect his family and friends-just like Goku), making him a much
stronger fighter. He only ever once (at the end of GT ) finally
admits that Goku is stronger than he is, and only once (again, at the
end of GT), does Goku call him 'Prince Vegeta'. He always refers
to Goku as 'Kakarot' (his Saiyan name). He only once calls him
Goku to his face. Later in the series, he and Goku learn how to
fuse to become Vegeto, and later on (in movie 12, Gojita). Vegeta
seems to have changed for good, when before sacrificing himself to
destroy Buu, he hugs Trunks and tells him to look after his
mother. Sniff, is so lovely.
To
any hard core fan, its nothing short of amazing how much Vegeta
changes. One of the things that cracked me up when I was it was in
Movie 13, when Vegeta protects a building full of people, muttering
"I'm too nice" before falling unconscious.
Note; Eventually, he does actually develop a sense of
humor...well...sort of, he laughs a few times anyway (and I don't mean
in that annoying and sarcastic tone either!
King Vegeta:
Vegeta's father and King of the planet Vegeta. He is killed
along with his planet when it is destroyed by Frieza. He is
devastated when his young son is taken away from him by Frieza and is
killed while trying to rescue his son and overthrow Frieza
