The Parish of Cockington within the Deanery of Torbay.

 

The Parish of Cockington is an Anglican Parish in the Deanery of Torbay, Archdeaconry of Totnes and Diocese of Exeter The map to the right shows the position of the Parish of Cockington within the Deanery of Torbay.

Cockington only became a Parish in its own right in 1881.  Until then the monks from nearby Torre Abbey would come across the fields to take services in the Parish Church.

Today the Parish of Cockington is one of the major tourist Parishes in Torquay with over 100 thousand people every year visiting the picturesque Parish Church.

The Parish consists of three Anglican Churches. Cockington Church, the Parish Church set in the beautiful grounds of Cockington Park. St Matthew's at the top of Walnut Road and St Peter's at the bottom of Queensway.
