The Vaki Submersible Biomass Counter

The Vaki Biomass Counter consists of a scanner frame and a display unit. The frame is submerged into the water at a depth of 3 - 8 meters and in 1 - 8 hours the sizes of fish in a sample of 300 - 1000 will have been recorded by the display unit.

The display unit is then connected to a PC and the data is transferred to a special processing program supplied by Vaki, for further processing and presentation of the distribution curves and average weight.

When counting, the frame is placed between two cages and the fish are counted as they swim from one cage to the other.

The frame can also be mounted behind a grading gate, for counting when grading.
