About  the Church:  The Elim Pentecostal Church was birthed in 1932 and is one of 550 Elim Pentecostal Churches nationwide. The name Elim refers to an oasis of sweet water and shade-giving palm trees found by the Israelites while they were on their way to the promised land having left slavery in Egypt (Exodus 15:27). Being a Pentecostal church means that we believe that God's Holy Spirit guides us in our daily lives and His gifts are to be used in building up the faith of the church and sharing Christ with those who do not yet know him yet.

What We Believe:  We believe that the Christian message of hope, forgiveness and salvation is relevant irrespective of age, background or ability. Furthermore, we believe that God, through His word - the Bible, His Son - the Lord Jesus Christ and the active participation of the Holy Spirit provides the answer to every problem that we face and gives strength and guidance in every situation, no matter how grave.

Our Meetings:  Our goal is to be a family Church catering for the young and old alike with provisions for teenagers, children and people with special needs. Worship and teaching are an essential part of every meeting and are shared in an atmosphere of friendliness and informality. During the week, more informal smaller gatherings take place in Ingatestone, Mountnessing, Hutton, Billericay, Chelmsford and Margaretting. These Home Fellowships provide times when we can get to know each other better, gain a greater understanding of the Christian faith and have fun. In addition, we are developing a variety of activities and events geared to all age groups, attracting people from a large catchment area.

Service in the Community:  We play an active role in Ingatestone Churches Together, working closely with the other churches in Ingatestone. We are also members of the Evangelical Alliance (EA). In both of these areas we seek to serve God and the community in which we live. In addition to links with local schools, the church runs a Full Time Day Nursery.

Service Abroad:  A concern for social justice has brought involvement in humanitarian aid & ministry trips to Romania, India and Democratic Republic of Congo and strong links with Uganda and France.

Our desire is to serve the purposes of God in our generation.
