Humphrey Corbet was born about 1535 the son of Arthur & Mary (Bradshaw of Moorebane, Leics) Corbet of Rutland and Wanlippe, Leics.  He married Agnes  Parkar, widow, of St Antholin, formerley Ives. He appears on Boyds Citizens of London and was a member of the Merchant Taylor Guild.  He was buried at St Antholin, Budge Row, London on 21 December 1609.

He is mentioned in a variety of records including Miscellanea Genealogica et Heraldica - series 5 vol. I;  Essex CRO; Kew PRO etc.

He and Agnes appear to have had only one child, Richard, who was a gardener of Hackney who may have married Ann Caul in 1612 at St Olave, Hart Street, City of London.

The Middlesex Sessions Records 1614-15 record that he was beaten by two men. In 1615-16 he appears agin having had a smock stolen from him. In 1616 a blanket belonging to him was stolen from the house of William Russell.

He may have had 4 daughters and two sons but apart from their baptisms nothing is known about them. He may have been of Hackney (between 1613 and 1615) and of Algate from 1621 to 1629. Perhaps he moved from Hackney after the 3 problems he'd encountered while living in Hackney between 1614 and 1616.
