Susan L. Mihal in Bel Air, Maryland, USA:
It is by far the all time best song by the Stone Roses. Especially on
some of the mixes. They came to America and I saw them in Washington
D.C. It was a bloody brilliant performance, the only down side was that
it was minus Reni. But, they opened up with "I Wanna be Adored" and
they were just amazing, I can still see Ian with his arms up, singing
his heart out amidst the blue light and the smoke it was a very surreal
moment. The song evokes good memories.
Liam Quinn in Portrush, N.Ireland:
Every time I listen to this song it sends a chilling feeling down my
spine! I just try an imagine what it was like played live by my four
hero's.
Gregor Bavidge in Bolton, England:
The intro to I Wanna Be Adored id the best in any song I have heard.
Andrew Tharby in Worthing, England:
Beautiful, haunting, despairing, frightening, majestic, magical. The
only song I have ever heard that is so timeless and genreless that it
could represent mankind, let alone the Stone Roses.
Casson in Manchester, England:
Doesn't everybody want to?
Countess in Springfield Oregon, USA:
Its just a really good song. I have listened to it every night for the
past 7 years and I am not tired of it. I adore it.
Tim (BOBO) Bowman in Bloomington, Indiana USA:
The song is brilliant! It is the best song to drive to in the autumn
season under the multi-colored sky with the windows down singing as
loud as possible.
Sam Johnson in Oldham, Manchester, England:
The tumbling bass filters through the air and through your feet, moving
up through your body and invading your head. Atmospheric is a word that
just doesn't do it justice. Magicical comes close but somehow even that
isn't enough. It's the first Roses song I ever heard and to me it sums
them up. The beautiful guitar sound, the mesmirising bass line, the
solid but loose drum beat and the hypnotic vocal. F**king top!!!
Matt in San Diego, California:
It's just very moving and simple, I think that;s what captures it for
me.
Richard Steadman in Hull, England:
Quite simply the greatest song (and intro) ever to be produced.
Robert Larder in Sheffield, England:
A good song should make you feel something.
Andrew Woodhead in Sheffield, England: Got that backroom in
a pub early 90s manchester feel.
Shazanah Hassan in Singapore:
I Wanna Be Adored is a great classic.
Shoegazer72 in Bloomington, Indiana, USA:
Atmospheric and brilliant.
Paul Lambert in Reading, England:
Because I do.
André Martin Junior in Brasil; São Paulo; Porra:
OLá eu sou um cara brasileiro que amo Stone Roses, Não sei falar inglês,
mas podem ter certeza que é Stone Roses no céu e nós na fita, sacaram?
pois é mano!!
(I have no idea what this says but I guess its good!!.....Hope so
anyway!...Ed)
James Hodgins in Mililani, Hawaii:
The bassline, the way the song develops, it is just an excellent piece
of songwriting.
Duncan Knox in Reading, England:
What an absolutely quality tune, and that tumbling start from another
planet, breathtaking!
Ross Fairweather and Chris Brown in Falkirk, Scotland:
The start to this song is f**kin brillant.
The Alley Cat in Colne, Lancashire, United Kingdom:
It's a very musical and lyrical track, but this is only the tip of the
iceberg, because the production of it is excellent, and being an old
acid head hippy who wants to be adored it has a very simple appeal to
me.
Jens Hansson in Lund, Sweden:
Just so good. Lyrics, melody, guitars, everything. I like when it reaches
a climax at "I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I got to be adored". In fact
this whole record is good...
Lorna Oldershaw in Bonnybridge, Scotland:
This was the first ever Stone Roses song I heard and it got me hooked
for life!!
The Stoned Roser in West Yorkshire, England:
When I hear it, everything in my life gets blocked out and becomes perfect
for the few minutes this song plays. It's everything a song shold be,
enchanted, haunting, powerful, mystical, amazing! I want this song to
be played at my funeral so that the song can get buried with me and
stay there for ever.(Well said my son!...Ed)
Jay Small in Wolverhampton, England:
Gives you THAT buzz every time you hear it.
Rick in Warrington, England:
"I Wanna Be Adored" Doesn't everyone? And the way Browny sings the line
"I Gotta Be Adored" Plus the version on Garage Flower is brilliant too.
Ian Acko in Liverpool, England:
Im a 17 year old lad from Liverpool. I don't know any other Roses fans
and I cant find any! Wish I was born 10 years earlier. Gis a shout if
ya a Stone Roses fan c.atkinson02@cableinet.co.uk
so I know am not alone!!
Marvin Starduster (yeah?...lol...Ed) in Birmingham, England:
Does an album get any better than having a opening of such epic proportions.
Colin Doherty in Inverclyde, Scotland:
The bass line is mega, man!!
Seth Adams in McClure, United States:
Great introduction.....Then comes on strong.....Great song.
James in MADchester!, England:
Song is just a classic. Mani is a genius and the whole aura it creates
is just superb. by far the Roses best song ever.
Nikki in Manchester, England:
It was the first song that got me hooked on the genious of the Roses,
and one that holds so many emotions. For a song to be someone's favourite,
it has touch them in some way - this one touches me in many ways and
whenever i listen to it now it still brings a shiver down my spine!
:-)
Moriarty (The amazing, if any), Middle of nowhere (Australia):
Okay, so, fine - I've only heard two. But they're so brilliant! I'm
buying an album next I get the chance. I like the riff, and the clip's
cool.
Chris Helme in Portsmouth,England: (For some reason I
don't think thats you real name...the "My Idol" comment gives
it away!...Ed)
Ian's vocals, John (my idol's) guitar, Mani's amazing bass lines and
Reni's drums on these tracks are i feel the best the've done. If it
was'nt for The Stone Roses the 90's would of been shite as they influenced
some of the best bands around. (Comment includes Elephant Stone)
Chrissy Moore in Omagh, N.Ireland:
This song inspired me to swap my guitar for a bass! THIS SONG CONFIRMS
MANI AS A GENIUS.
Paul Taylor in East Yorkshire, England:
Best intro to any song ever. When I heard it first I felt uplifted by
the mellow sound that sounded like a train passing by on a typical summers
day, Iseemed to get in touch with a side of me I never knew existed,I
felt completely at rest with the inner one we all experience at some
time in our life. A truly amazing song by the an amazing band, yours
Paul.
Ichwan in Jakarta, Indonesia:
When i listened it Ifeel, I have to be adored by someone. May I....???
Dan Quinn in Essex, England:
Real tear jerker, even if i did wonder for a while why he wanted to
be a dog.
