Minerals
and waste planning
Planning for minerals and waste can be a complex and specialist field, and yet these land uses can have considerable impacts on local communities. Is a new or extended quarry, pit or landfill site proposed near you? A waste recycling, composting or energy-from-waste facility, perhaps? What sites are proposed in the longer-term? What about the after-use of a redundant or worked-out site?
You can have your say in minerals and waste planning, including on the need to protect both the environment and local amenity, but you need to engage with the planning system when opportunities arise throughout the various consultation stages. Specialist help is needed to find your way through the system and to put your case in such a way as to make maximum impact.
