Sailing Weekend
We are able to offer offshore
sailing experience to members of the Association through Dudley Pitman
our County Offshore Sailing Adviser. Dudley is a RYA Yachtmaster
Offshore Skipper and operates Joint Ventures Sailing using a Feeling 32’
yacht based at Conway. Dudley is also the District Adviser to
Mid-Cheshire and a Dinghy Senior Instructor and Power Boat Instructor,
he is well qualified. All trips would comply fully with P.O.R.
As a guide it costs £470 for a
cruising weekend, for 7 scouts, this includes food, personal kit i.e.
foul weather gear etc. The 7th person is usually a leader to
act as mate, they would need relevant experience otherwise Dudley would
have to reduce the number to 6 scouts and bring in a “qualified” mate,
RYA Day Skipper is a good example.
The cost is cheaper than other
sailing schools and represents good value for money. However to make it
even more attractive you may wish to encourage this development. It is
an excellent progression for people who have dinghy sailing experience
and need some stretching new challenge and adventure.
