If you are in contact with Sea Scout Groups or Scout Groups with access to sailing facilities I would be grateful if you would give some publicity to the following on your website or in your bulletins.

The 23rd Southport Sailing Club National Junior 12 Hour Race will take place on Saturday 28th June 2008 - 0800 hrs to 2000 hrs.
Entrants are invited from teams sailing Bosun, Enterprise and GP14 Dinghies.
The Race is open to Sailing Clubs, Schools, Scout Groups and other youth organisations.
Teams will race round a course of approximately 1.5 km for the twelve hours, changing crew as frequently as their team manager feels is appropriate.
There is no upper limit to the number in a team, however the minimum number of team members is four.
Team members in an Under 20 Team must be under 20 years of age on the day of the race. Team members in an Under 18 Team must be under eighteen on the day of the race. There is no lower age limit.
The team manager must be a responsible adult, approved by the Management of the organisation entering the team. The Team Manager must be familiar with his Organisation’s Child Protection Policy. The Team Manager must also have a sound knowledge of sailing, be aware of the individual capabilities of the team members and also be capable of making appropriate decisions regarding the safety of the team in the varying weather conditions which may be encountered during the course of the event.  A team may bring a group of non-sailing team assistants to help in the docking area.  Team assistants may be of any age.
