Extinguishant for class A fires only, involving carbonaceous material such as wood, paper, textiles. Water extinguishes fire by cooling the fire removing the heat needed to sustain combustion and preventing remaining embers from re-igniting.

Fire extinguishers, with an AFFF additive, have the effect of enhancing its class "A" fire fighting ability and also enabling it to be used on class "B" (liquid fires) very successfully. TRICLASS extinguishers feature a unique nozzle which ensures operator safety if in accidental contact with live electrical equipment, (complies with electrical conductivity test specified in BS EN 3-2:1996,clause 4,Annex A). 

Dry Powder extinguishers are extremely efficient on class "A" fires, they are also used on class "B" and "C" fires (Gaseous). (There is no test to determine class "C" fires specified in BS EN 3). In addition they can also be used on live electrical equipment. 

CO2 is used on class "B" fires. It can be safely used on live electrical equipment. CO2 is extensively used throughout the food industry for it cleanliness in application.
