Monday: Digger arrives ready to start on Tuesday. |

Tuesday: The first sod of turf is dug |
|
|
We get some cheap child labour to drive the digger. |
|
|
|
Chickens appreciate the nice dug ground with plenty of fresh juicy worms |
|
Wednesday: Digging of the footings is finalised and the building inspector gives them the OK. |

Thursday: Dumper and digger go off hire. |
|
|
|
Concrete Mixer arrives with its first load. |
|
Concrete is poured for the footings just before the rain comes down again. |
|
Friday: No builders in today but Suzanne orders the following for the next week:
Tie irons
4 packs Common Bricks
4 600 X 100 Prestessed Lintels
2 900 X 100 Prestressed Lintels
1 Load of building sand
5 ltrs of mortar Plasticiser
12 bags of portland cement

Saturday: Clean up day and buy a small electric mixer and a builders wheelbarrow. |
|
|
It took me 4 hours to put this thing together (in the rain). |
|
Note the first pile of sand has also been delivered. |
| Sunday: Went and purchased a Stihl FS85RT combination Strimmer/Hedgecutter and Pruner to remove any trees and bushes that get in the way. |

Then we retired to put our Anoracks on.
