Week 21
20 August 2001
Monday and the hole was dug to expose the existing sewers. Covered to prevent passers by from falling down. |
Looking 2M down you can just about make out the existing sewer and notice the main power cable for the street. |
| Tuesday and the connection is made. At the second attempt as the inspector insisted they use clay pipe not plastic. |
The digger is armed with a hammer attachment for the next days concrete breaking up. |
| Wednesday and part of the drive is removed for the drains to go in. |
The incoming gas pipe has also been located. Play around with that and they will lock you up!! |
| Thursday and the drain pipes are in. |
Also the water pipe (blue) and the gas pipe (yellow). No questions asked where the gas pipe came from! |
| The temporary staircase arrives. We will use this until we get a nice one made. |
Front is insulated for the plasterer |
| We also insulated the hard to reach places as we won't be able to get there once the ceilings are up. |
I put noggins in wherever I thought I might need a light fitting. |
Friday and a lot of things going on. 1 the wall started to be built up in the lounge. |
| 2. Drains all done. |
3. Temporary staircase fitted in. |
| 4. The first plaster boards were up. Note the nice handrail made of old pallet. |
Too late now if I've forgotten a socket or two. |
Sunday and we knew Tony the dot and dab man was coming on the Monday so we needed to get the sound insulation between the stud walls. |
We had a night of itching and scratching after this little lot was in. |
