Week 30
22 Oct 2001
Monday and with the prospect of no plumber now we had to decide what to do.
Monday morning a grabber lorry took away the earth from the porch footings. |
By Tuesday we had rigged up water to the toilet and basin in the ensuite bathroom. |
I love those push-fit fittings. |
This meant that on Wenesday work could start indoors on the pantry and demolition of the old bathroom. |
A downstairs toilet was also rigged up. Note the hose pipe to flush. |
Thursday and work had started on the rebuilding of the wall that will be the side of the pantry. Suzanne made it smaller than we had planned to make the kitchen-diner bigger. |
Saturday was spent mainly installing more under-floor heating tubes. |
And making the timber for the front look weathered and staining it. |
We also had to speak to different plumbers about doing some work for us.
Sunday and I insulated the underfloor heating at the front so the timber stud work could be constructed around the top of the front window. |
I have found the new job from hell.
If I thought laying loft insulation was bad, laying it above my head is far worse.
