Week 4
23/April/2001
Monday and the first blocks were put in place. |
| My profiles from the previous Monday were now being used. |
Monday evening and I got home and attacked the Laurel bush with my chainsaw on a stick. One of the two soakaways will be going in here. |
Monday night our sheds were broken into and you guessed it, my new chainsaw on a stick was nicked among other things. Oh well, at least I got to use it once.
Tuesday morning and up with the Larks sawing insulation board. |
Also loaded the pickup again from the previous days cutting.
It took 3 days in all to get rid of it all. |
As the rain came down the builders made theirselves a tent. |
What a cosy place to work |
Wednesday and no builders today. Much to my dismay the proper wall insulation arrives so I didn't need to saw all that other stuff up. The first scaffolding arrives today. |
It's a hard job this scaffolding. |
Thursday and from a vantage point on the scaffolding an interloper is spotted in the chicken run. |
Mr cocky cockerel where did you come from? |
Meanwhile the walls get higher and higher and the rain stays away. |
I have a visit from the electricity man about our overhead cables and Suze orders the ceiling beams.
Friday end of play and they are as high as they can go without some of the roof being dismantled. |
| Saturday the Joists arrive for the first floor. |
I make a start on dismantling the roof. |
Mr Cockerel gets taken away by the RSPCA to somebody who takes them in. Not Mr Matthews we hope. |
| Sunday and the 2nd lift of Scaffolding arrives. | ![]() |
This is how it looks at the end of week 4. |
