BUILDING GROUP

Aim: To maintain and develop the church property to improve the facilities and capacity for the church’s worship, fellowship and activities.

Who? Hedley chairs this group which includes David Williams, Tim, Simon, Peter and John Adams. Bob, Vas , Richard H. and others have alsobeen involved in the practical tasks.

What? Having agreed a scheme and drawings for a first floor in the church, God gave us the manse, meaning a change of plan. We have undertaken surveys and risk assessments, obtained Building Regulation and Planning permission. The manse has been gutted and work is on-going for new electrics, fire alarm system, fire doors, disabled access, a doorway opposite the church back door and the knocking down and rebuilding of walls. We will fit a new kitchen, upgrade the central heating and plumbing, plaster and redecorate.

Prayer? Thank God that we have so many skilled people . Pray for planning consent for a link block and for the resouces we need to complete the project speedily so that we can then begin upgrading the main body of the church.

2004? We hope to draw up plans and get planning permission for a link block, which will provide new toilets and a reception area.

If we can achieve that, the current toilets can be demolished to enlarge the church seating capacity. We will then redecorate the church and install new heating and fire alarm systems.
