Let me start by saying, although some colleagues at work liken me to that famous British television traveller, Alan Wicker, my travel experiences and actual opportunity for foreign travel have come fairly late in my life compared to other people. At least two weeks abroad each year is now common for a large proportion of people however, it is not that many years ago since you were considered to be either rich, an explorer, an important business executive or all of these, if you ever ventured far from your home Country.
