KUWAIT ENGLISH SCHOOL
This is a picture of Kuwait English School probably taken in late 1984. Some of the buses that were used to transport pupils to and from school can be seen. Also on the roof at the right you can see the solar panels that were used to convert sunlight into electricity. These were installed as part of a joint project with KISR - a research body linked to the University.
This picture shows the school in June 1984. The scaffolding is made of wood. The workers were going flat out to complete the building but it was very hot and in that year the holy month of Ramadan fell in June. I was quite surprised to find a usable building when we returned in September.
