Edenfield from the South 1977 Bury Rd formerly Nimble Nook

I am Alan Chattwood, born in Edenfield on the 14th May 1924 and I welcome you to these pages which seek to tell you something of this branch of the Chattwood family. I became hooked when my wife, Mary, was browsing the web and came across a site where someone was seeking information about the Chattwoods of Edenfield. I sent an e-mail to the address given and found that I was in contact with Joan Merrill whose Grandmother was a Chattwood from Haslingden and who was already researching the family. I was able to supply her with information back to my great grandfather, which Joan fitted into the family tree. After receiving a printout of this there was no going back.

Guide Post Edenfield with the day school is on right. [DG NOTE: My great-grandmother, Alice Chattwood, married a Joseph Stukins. I can remember visiting my great-aunt Ellen ("Nelly") and her brother Tommy in the houses immediately facing the camera end-on with a door on to the Rawtenstall road (on right). Alan was able to tell me that he remembered them living in the same block of houses but with a door to the Haslingden road (on left)]
