Educational Resources...

The combined knowledge base of many individual beekeepers is quite useful... As there is a range of age and experience as well as individuals that have experienced beekeeping in other countries and climates. Different perspectives occur between hobby beekeepers, semi professional ones and those that have beekeeping as their main source of income.

Microscopy is often a problem as individual beekeepers can rarely afford a top class instrument. The L&RBKA has a high specification microscope and closed circuit television monitor that can aid demonstrations and lectures. We also have overhead projection facilities for transparencies and computer generated video. These facilities can be accessed and used at the Brooksby site, with prior notification to the Apiary Manager

The breeding program has at it's disposal a range of nucleus boxes ranging from five frame types to half frame mating nucs. Grafting can be practiced as well as instrumental insemination. Coaching can be arranged in any particular technique.
