1st December 2003 - No files for 2003

AT PRESENT I AM UNABLE TO FIND TIME TO CREATE FILES FOR 2004. ALSO, I AM IM PROCESS OF MIGRATING TO PALM TUNGSTEN, ONLY BECAUSE MY PSION REVO WILL NOT INTEGRATE WITH MS OUTLOOK 2002, WHICH IS NOW A NECESSARY FEATURE I MUST HAVE. IT WAS NOT AN EASY DECISION.

THIS MIGRATION WILL TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS. OVER XMAS BREAK I WILL BE WORKING ON MOVING DATA BETWEEN THEM AND HOPE TO PUT A 2004 NOTABLE DATES FILES TOGETHER, BUT IT IS LIKELY TO BE THE LAST ONE.

THERE ARE SOME PROBLEMS WITH PALM T3 ( A T2 WORKS FINE THOUGH) AND MY DELL D600 VIA DOCKING STATION. IN MANY FEATURES, PALM IS STILL BEHIND THE PSION TECHNOLOGY OF 5 YEARS AGO BUT IN OTHER WAYS AHEAD.

IF ANY BODY KNOWS OF A SIMILAR "NOTEABLE DATES" FEATURE FOR PALM IT WOULD BE USEFUL TO ME, PLEASE EMAIL DETAILS TO ADDRESS BELOW.

This is a simple page which will be used to hold a Psion Agenda File which I wish to make available to to all on a Free Of Charge basis.

The file that can be downloaded from here is for a Psion Revo. It contains notable dates for 2002 in UK & Ireland, such as bank holidays and other festivals or significant dates. This can be merged with your normal agenda file to give these dates just like you would have them in a regular diary. This file has been tried successfully by users of Psion 5and Psion 5mx.

The file format used by the Agenda application is platform agnostic to ALL EPOC devices currently on the market place, except the Ericsson R380.Testing is therefore not necessary and by default any Agenda file will work on:Revo-RevoPlus-Mako-5-GeofoxOne-5mx-MC218-S7-netBook-OsarisEven if an Agenda file contains an embedded object that is not supported on another EPOC device, it should still work correctly, the application instead just advising it cannot view the object concerned.

The file was created with untimed events at 0.00 Midnight to make sure they appeared at the top of the page.

Instructions for Revo
Download this file using the link below, unzip it and transfer usingPsiWin to a suitable folder.
Launch you normal agenda file and use the Merge Function from FILE| MORE | MERGE IN
Navigate to stored location & select the file from your folder,select Entries and 2003 UK & I Notable Dates and click OK.

For the brave here it is in direct EPOC Format (Size 14Kb) 2003_Notable_Dates.DOC rename after download and remove the .DOCextension used to force browser into downloading it as a file instead of text.

Q&A for Revo
Also here is another file which may be of use to people who used thePsion 3a/3c and have upgraded to a Revo. There are some things that have changed and some that are missing. Sometimes the manual is not all that helpful. The document is in MS Word format and also for the brave that are surfing online via the Psion and a mobile connection itis given in EPOC Word format.

EPOC files when downloded on a Psion Revo will have to be renamed before use to remove the .DOCextension which was put there to force browsers into downloading it as a file instead of text.
